The Spanish giants ended up on the losing side on those two occasions as well, but they are now back and are showing interest in an Arsenal youngster – Max Dowman.

The 15-year-old is already a part of the Arsenal first-team squad, and everyone in the game is convinced that he is going to be a superstar in the future.
Arteta has created a pathway for Dowman at the club and has already played him three times since the start of this season.
Arsenal clearly see him as part of their future, but Real Madrid have their eye on the youngster.
The Daily Mail claim that Dowman had Los Blancos’ scouts ‘purring’ when they watched him during the England U19s’ camp in Spain.
They liked what they saw so much that a delegation will be attending the England U19s games against Belgium and Wales during this international break.
What’s stopping Arsenal from offering Max Dowman a long-term contract?
Arsenal definitely want Dowman to stay at the club for a long time.
The teenager, despite being just 15, has already impressed at senior level and is expected to get many more opportunities this season.
Real Madrid’s interest is always a concern, and Arsenal fans will want their club to extend Dowman’s contract as soon as possible.
However, according to the BBC, ‘Fifa rules state he cannot sign a professional contract until the age of 17’.
Dowman does not turn 17 until December 2026.
