Takehiro Tomiyasu is garnering interest from a European giant after being released by Arsenal in the summer.
Arsenal opted to part ways with Tomiyasu after the Japanese effectively spent an entire season on the sidelines due to injury.
A beloved player in his time at the Emirates, the defender was never able to stay fit consistently and subsequently found himself surplus to requirements in N5.
As he continues his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury that has kept him out for several months, he has yet to receive an offer from a potential suitor.

AC Milan ‘considering the opportunity’ to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from Bologna for £16 million in 2021 and was ultimately limited to just 84 appearances in red and white due to his fitness issues.
As versatile and useful as he was, the Gunners felt they had to cut ties with the player, who simply couldn’t keep his body healthy enough to contribute regularly.
Tomiyasu opened up about the departure in July, explaining that the contract termination wasn’t an abrupt decision.
Despite potentially knowing he would no longer be an Arsenal player for some time, the 26-year-old hasn’t been able to source a new club yet.
However, he may now be given hope, as Football Italia report that AC Milan are ‘considering the opportunity’ to sign the free agent.
While the transfer window has officially closed, clubs are still able to acquire players who are out of contract.
It’s understood that Tomiyasu’s injuries may present a stumbling block in any deal with Milan, with the Rossoneri keen to garner a good idea of his fitness levels before making a formal offer.
The Italian giants already abandoned a deal to sign Victor Boniface this summer, after finding unwanted red flags in his medical results.

Takehiro Tomiyasu would be an excellent signing for anyone in Europe
As a free agent, Tomiyasu is worth a punt for almost anyone in Europe.
His injury history means potential suitors may have to offer him a short-term contract on reduced wages, to ensure they aren’t locked in for a player who may break down.
However, for no transfer fee, clubs can get a defender who can operate in any of the back four positions to a high level.
Exceptional as a marauding full-back, whilst also being adept as a third centre-back or inverting into midfield, Tomiyasu is a malleable player who can do it all.
Whichever club ends up landing him has an outstanding individual in their ranks.
