Arsenal have been sent a clear message about Piero Hincapie by Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports.
Arsenal are looking to strike a deal to bring Piero Hincapie to the Emirates Stadium on an initial loan that would become permanent next summer.
Arsenal have held talks with Leverkusen for Hincapie, while personal terms have already been agreed with the defender.
However, the Bundesliga side will not let the Ecuador international go on the cheap.

Bayer Leverkusen will not let Piero Hincapie go to Arsenal for less than £52million
Leverkusen have made it clear to Arsenal that any deal for Hincapie must be on their terms, according to The Mirror.
The report claims Leverkusen are currently refusing to negotiate below Hincapie’s €60million (£52million) release clause, and are “pointing Arsenal” towards this.
Leverkusen have already sold a number of key players this summer, including Florian Wirtz, Granit Xhaka and Jonathan Tah.
With that in mind, they are under no pressure to weaken Erik ten Hag’s squad further, particularly given Hincapie’s contract runs until 2029.

What Piero Hincapie thinks about joining Arsenal
Arsenal have won half the battle with regards to signing Hincapie, as the player is really keen on joining the Gunners.
Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that Hincapie is really attracted to the Arsenal project and really attracted by the opportunity of being a key player for Mikel Arteta.
With Jakub Kiwior looking for a move away from Arsenal, it’s important that Andrea Berta can get a deal for Hincapie over the line.
Understandably, Leverkusen aren’t willing to let him go for cheap, especially considering how many key players they have lost this summer.
However, Arsenal still have five days to get a deal over the line.
