After signing Eberechi Eze, Andrea Berta has signalled that his work in the transfer window is not done.
There isn’t a name being sung more around North London right now than Berta’s.
Arsenal’s sporting director has made quite the first impression at the Emirates, bolstering Mikel Arteta’s squad significantly.
In contrast to last season, Arsenal’s squad depth has noticeably improved, but seven signings down the line, Berta isn’t done yet.

Arsenal could sign Piero Hincapie on an initial loan
Arsenal have been linked to Piero Hincapie of Bayer Leverkusen, who, ironically, is also wanted by Tottenham.
Before the news broke, Hincapie was spotted crying on the pitch after Leverkusen’s defeat to Hoffenheim, signalling that his exit could be near.
Being valued at £52m, a deal for the 23-year-old defender doesn’t look easy to pull off from the outside, but Berta might have found a solution.
According to German outlet Kolner Stadt Anzeiger, it’s considered to be ‘quite possible’ that Arsenal could sign the Ecuadorian on a loan with an obligation to buy.
The idea is that Hincapie could spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Arsenal before being purchased for £52m in the summer of 2026, a deal that the report says ‘could help both clubs’.
Arsenal’s focus is on selling players, having spent £270m this summer so far, making a loan-to-buy deal an ideal scenario to keep spending in order.

Hincapie deal could be a dream for the Kroenkes
Having sold Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz to Liverpool for a combined fee close to £150m, Leverkusen have generated sufficient funds this summer, meaning that loaning Hincapie wouldn’t exactly hinder the German club’s finances.
What it will hinder, however, is Erik ten Hag’s defence, as Hincapie was dubbed a ‘great player’ by Xabi Alonso.
The rumoured conditions of a possible deal could be a huge plus for Berta and most prominently, Stan Kroenke, who will want to keep Arsenal’s financial situation under close control.
Not having to spend out on an immediate fee for Hincapie would be huge for Arsenal amid a high-spending summer, something the Kroenkes would certainly applaud.
