Arsenal transfer news and rumours today as Xabi Alonso makes Rodrygo decision amid Cristhian Mosquera ‘control’

Keep up with all the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours, including updates on Rodrygo, Cristhian Mosquera and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

It may have been a slow start from Andrea Berta but the Gunners’ transfer activity is starting to kick into life.

Arsenal have already acquired Kepa Arrizabalaga and fans are awaiting official announcements of Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard imminently.

The business doesn’t stop there as attentions very much turn to giving Mikel Arteta the attacking firepower needed to compete for major trophies again next season.

So, with that said, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news ahead of another busy day of action.

Xabi Alonso open to selling Rodrygo to Arsenal this summer

According to the Athletic, Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso is open to selling Brazilian winger Rodrygo this summer should a suitable offer arrive.

The report from journalist Mario Cortegana claims that Arsenal have held preliminary talks with Rodrygo’s camp about a potential summer switch.

The 24-year-old has played just 23 minutes in Real Madrid’s last three FIFA Club World Cup matches and looks out of favour under the new boss.

It is now up to Berta and the Arsenal hierarchy to present a suitable offer if they really want their man.

Cristhian Mosquera wants to move to Arsenal

Cristhian Mosquera has rejected Valencia’s offer of a new contract and has made it clear that his desire is to join Arsenal.

Arsenal moved quickly with an attractive salary package and ‘moved skilfully’ to persuade the defender that joining the club would give him the tools to become one of the ‘elite’.

The 21-year-old is now hoping that the two clubs can agree a fee and he gets the chance to learn alongside the likes of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Arsenal told to be ‘creative’ with Oleksandr Zinchenko sale

It is not just incomings on the agenda at the Emirates Stadium this summer, the club are intent on selling some stars to ensure the squad and wage bill are not bloated.

One player the club are looking to part ways with this summer is Oleksandr Zinchenko but according to TBR Football’s chief transfer expert Graeme Bailey, they will need to be ‘creative’ with his sale.

Bailey stated: “Zinchenko’s got potential interest from all around the place. Zinchenko is a bit more difficult because he’s on big money, so it’s not easy to get him out. I think they might have to get creative with him.”
