Viktor Gyokeres has just changed his mind about summer transfer after seeing what Arsenal have done

Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with a move to both Arsenal and Manchester United this summer.

The Sporting CP star has been incredible over the last two seasons, scoring nearly 100 goals and helping his club become champions two years in a row.

Now, the striker is expected to leave Portugal, and it has been claimed that Gyokeres prefers joining Arsenal ahead of Manchester United.

However, things may have changed now.

Viktor Gyokeres changes his mind about Manchester United transfer after what Arsenal have done

Viktor Gyokeres is in a difficult position at Sporting CP at the moment.

The Swede has been one of the most prolific goalscorers on the planet over the last two seasons, but clubs are not queuing up for his signature.

As things stand, only Arsenal and Manchester United have shown interest in Gyokeres, and his preference has been a move to the Emirates.

However, the Mirror now claim that Gyokeres ‘has put Manchester United into pole position for his signature’ after making a U-turn on his Arsenal stance.

That is because Arsenal’s preference is to sign Benjamin Sesko, which has left Gyokeres feeling ‘increasingly aware that his best bet this summer may be to reunite with former boss Amorim’ at Manchester United.

So, ‘intermediaries have made contact on the player’s behalf to signal he is ready to join’ the Red Devils in the coming weeks.

It remains to be seen how Arsenal will act now.

Arsenal are playing a very risky game

Andrea Berta has been negotiating deals for both Sesko and Gyokeres simultaneously.

Theoretically, that makes sense as the Arsenal sporting director can leverage one deal against the other to drive the price down.

However, dragging this on could make a player lose interest in a move to the Emirates and choose to join another club instead.

The worst-case scenario would be to see Arsenal missing out on both Sesko and Gyokeres in this window— that would be a disaster.

Berta needs to make up his mind and go all out for one of the two strikers in the coming days.
