Arsenal player Mikel Arteta sold for just £3.5m could now join Antonio Conte's Napoli

Arsenal have allowed a number of players to leave since Mikel Arteta took charge.

Several first-team stars became surplus to requirements and had to make way for academy stars like Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah.

Arsenal then transformed into one of the best teams in the country, and that made it difficult for other youngsters at the club to break into the senior setup despite having the talent.

Many left the club in search of senior opportunities elsewhere, and one of them is on the radar of two huge clubs in Italy.

Napoli and Juventus want to sign Brooke Norton-Cuffy

Brooke Norton-Cuffy joined the Arsenal academy at the age of 10 and came through the ranks at the club.

A marauding right-back, he impressed heavily during his loan spells at Lincoln City, Rotherham, Coventry City and Millwall.

Many people expected Norton-Cuffy to get a chance at Arsenal a few years ago, but it was decided that there was no place for the youngster.

In August 2024, Genoa signed Norton-Cuffy in a £3.5 million deal, and his performances in Italy have caught the eye of some huge clubs.

Nicolo Schira has revealed that Juventus, as well as Antonio Conte’s Italian champions Napoli, are both keeping an eye on Norton-Cuffy.

The 21-year-old’s contract at Genoa doesn’t expire until the summer of 2029, so it will not be easy to get him out of the Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris.

However, Napoli and Juventus are capable of luring players away from smaller Italian clubs.

If that happens, Arsenal will get a percentage of the fee thanks to the sell-on clause Edu Gaspar included in the deal when he sold Norton-Cuffy.

Arsenal have a problem that’s costing them millions every year

Arsenal are losing millions year after year because of how bad they are at selling players.

The Gunners’ record sale is still Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who joined Liverpool for £35 million nearly a decade ago.

Even with youngsters, Arsenal are selling massively talented players for peanuts, who are then moved on for big sums by the buying clubs.

Omari Hutchinson, who was sold for next to nothing by Arsenal to Chelsea, has since been sold twice – once from Chelsea to Ipswich Town for £22 million and most recently to Nottingham Forest for £37.5 million.

Norton-Cuffy could be the next Arsenal player to go for big money after leaving the Emirates for a very small fee.
