Arsenal aren’t planning on selling Leandro Trossard in the coming days, despite speculation linking the player to Besiktas, Arsenal Insider understands.
Trossard endured a slightly disappointing 2024/25 campaign, although he still scored ten goals and provided nine assists across all competitions for the Gunners.
This decline in productivity prompted many to believe that the North London club would cash in on the Belgian this summer, with the likes of Brentford and Galatasaray linked with a move for him.
However, the European transfer deadline closed on Monday, and Arsenal have offered the player fresh terms instead.
That said, a spanner was thrown in the works after reports emerged earlier this week indicating that Besiktas have made an offer for Trossard, with the Turkish transfer window yet to close.

Arsenal aren’t planning on selling Leandro Trossard right now
Trossard has fallen in the pecking order at Arsenal.
Eberechi Eze was signed by Mikel Arteta to compete for a place on the left wing, while Noni Madueke was also brought to N5 to potentially play minutes on this side.
The 30-year-old now has these aforementioned new signings, as well as Gabriel Martinelli, to compete with for a place in Arteta’s team.
Thus, it wasn’t unreasonable to suggest that the Gunners could look to cash in on Trossard, and links to Besiktas this week have only validated this suggestion.
However, transfer expert Graeme Bailey has told Arsenal Insider that the former Brighton man will remain in N5 for the foreseeable future and that he is expected to accept the pay rise offered to him by the club.
“The Turkish and Saudi windows are still open, but I don’t believe Trossard will leave,” he said.
“That’s not Arsenal’s plan, in the slightest, from my understanding of the situation. They fully expect him to stay and have offered him this new deal.
“You can never say never, you could always get a huge offer which would be too difficult to turn down, but they don’t anticipate that and it’s not their plan.”

One of Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli will surely leave in January
The other option on the table for Arsenal regarding selling a forward player is facilitating the departure of Martinelli.
The Brazilian has struggled for form in recent times, but would still be a relatively valuable asset for the Gunners to sell, given his age and pedigree.
With Eze, Madueke and Bukayo Saka likely to dominate both wings over the next six months, at least one of Trossard or Martinelli could become surplus to requirements.
| Statistical Comparison 2024/25 (League Only) | ||
| Stat | Trossard | Martinelli |
| Appearances | 38 | 33 |
| Goals | 8 | 8 |
| Assists | 7 | 4 |
| Shots | 2.54 | 2.17 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.25 | 0.29 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 1.45 | 1.57 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.14 | 0.19 |
| Successful Take-Ons per 90 | 1.34 | 1.30 |
It’s very likely that one of these two players won’t be given the number of minutes they want and will either look for a way out of N5 in January, or be pushed out by the Gunners’ hierarchy.
While Martinelli may generate the most revenue in terms of a transfer fee, Trossard is likely to decline quickly over the next few years as he enters the latter stages of his career, and should be viewed as the more favourable player to sell.
