Arsenal fans have been suggesting that former player and director Edu Gaspar has just done the Gunners a big favour.
The Gunners have just wrapped up a wonderful transfer window which has seen them strengthen their ranks considerably.
Piero Hincapie is the latest high-profile player to join Arsenal, who have also landed Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke among others.
There have also been some outgoings, and Edu has played a big part in taking one of the Gunners’ fringe players off their hands.

Arsenal fans thank Edu for signing Oleksandr Zinchenko
The player in question is Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan.
Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein reported on Forest’s interest in Zinchenko on Monday evening and, within less than an hour, the deal was done.
Edu became Forest’s global head of football in July, eight months after he left Arsenal following a five-year spell in the Emirates Stadium boardroom.
And after the news broke, some Arsenal fans thanked Edu for taking Zinchenko off their hands.
“Credit where credit’s due,” one fan wrote on X. “Edu masterclass to save us from paying Zinchenko’s wages for one whole year.”
Another said: “Edu trying to save his damaged reputation with Arsenal fans by getting Zinchenko off the wage books. It certainly helps.”
The praise for Edu kept coming, with one fan saying: “Edu Gaspar last min Zinchenko move, you might be alright after all.”
Another wrote: “Edu has done us a big favour by taking Zinchenko to Forest.”
Another said: “Edu taking Zinchenko off our hands is the best thing he’s done for the club.”
With Zinchenko’s contract running out next season, he has probably played his last game for Arsenal.
