There is a ‘really strong possibility’ that Arsenal will sell Gabriel Jesus in January, Arsenal Insider understands.
Jesus suffered an ACL injury back in January and has been recovering since, meaning the Gunners were unable to facilitate his departure over the summer.
There were understood to be clubs in Brazil and elsewhere interested in acquiring the striker’s services, although these potential suitors weren’t willing to do so because of his fitness issues.
However, after not naming Jesus in their squad for the League Phase of the Champions League, Arsenal are now open to parting ways with the player in the winter.

Arsenal open to selling or loaning Gabriel Jesus in January
Jesus is now surplus to requirements at Arsenal.
The Brazilian had been a key part of Mikel Arteta’s squad until he suffered his significant injury at the beginning of 2025, and the Gunners were forced to reconfigure their forward department.
Arsenal signed Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP for £63 million in the summer, with the Swede essentially brought in to replace Jesus in the squad.
Meanwhile, the North Londoners also added Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze to their ranks, making the former Manchester City man redundant as a wide option, too.
When he does return to full fitness, there is unlikely to be a role for Jesus, and Arsenal are therefore prepared to listen to offers, both loan and permanent, in the winter transfer window.
“One player who could move on in January is Gabriel Jesus,” transfer expert Graeme Bailey told Arsenal Insider.
“We know even before his injury they were looking to move on from him. So I think that there’s a very good chance that Jesus, injury dependent, could be on his way out and there will be conversations had about him in January and the buildup to January.
“Arsenal wouldn’t dismiss him playing a big role still if he can get fit, but this summer they weren’t going to stand in his way. So, I think there’s a really strong possibility that he could move out in January, but we’ll have to see how the recovery goes, etc.
“He still has some hopes of making the Brazil squad. So I could maybe see him going out on loan somewhere to get the football in the winter.”

Is there any realistic way back for Gabriel Jesus at Arsenal?
Jesus has been described as ‘unique’ in the past, with his blend of Brazilian flair and an unrelenting work rate certainly not typical.
An outstanding player at his best, injuries have derailed his career in N5, and it’s difficult to see where he’d now fit in a stacked Arsenal squad.
| Gabriel Jesus’ Premier League Statistics 2022/23 | |
| Appearances | 26 |
| Goals | 11 |
| Assists | 6 |
| Shots per 90 | 3.31 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.61 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 1.35 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.17 |
His return is, however, earmarked for around November or December, meaning he will be back in the fold and available before the January window commences.
This could give him a short period of time to stake a claim to be involved in Arteta’s squad moving forward.
However, opportunities will be few and far between with everyone ahead of him in the pecking order. Ultimately, it may come down to whether there are other injuries in the Arsenal ensemble when he returns, although any proper return to being a prominent player again feels very unlikely.
