What Max Dowman thinks about Arsenal now revealed amid bizarre Chelsea transfer links

Max Dowman is the hottest talent at Arsenal’s Hale End academy, and it appears that the inspired midfielder is here for the long run.

The 2024/25 season was one to behold for those in Arsenal’s academy, as Mikel Arteta sent a statement message to those aspiring to make the first team.

Myles Lewis-Skelly went from an academy regular to an England international and a crucial first-team starter, with Ethan Nwaneri also starring.

Fans were delighted as Lewis-Skelly signed a new contract at Arsenal; however, there’s now some anxiety setting in regarding his counterpart.

It’s understood that Nwaneri’s talks over a new deal are delicate, which has prompted Chelsea to take a look at the 18-year-old.

Max Dowman’s father shuts down Chelsea transfer rumour

Chelsea are reportedly watching Nwaneri, as reports suggest that the teenager is a little concerned over his chances of game time over the upcoming season.

The Gunners have been dealing with the Blues frequently during Arteta’s reign, sharing as many as five players since the Arsenal manager took charge in 2019.

Arsenal already signed Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer, which increased the number, a figure that could rise even more as the Gunners have agreed personal terms with Noni Madueke

On the topic of Madueke, trusted Arsenal transfer source ‘Hand Of Arsenal’ took to X to reveal Chelsea’s bizarre stance on dealing with the North Londoners.

Chelsea apparently ‘floated the idea’ of involving Max Dowman in a deal for Madueke, which is something Arsenal didn’t hesitate to turn down.

The 15-year-old is considered to be the ‘crown jewel’ of Arsenal, and fortunately, the player is just as committed as his club are.

On X, the Hale End prodigy’s father, Robert Dowman, shot down the rumour that his son could leave for Chelsea, or any club.

“Arsenal are our club. You know that,” Dowman’s father responded to a dedicated Arsenal fan’s rubbishing of the transfer link.

The teen is committed to Arsenal, as are his family, but there’s no need for fans to worry, regardless.

Dowman can’t be included in Chelsea transfer plan

Dowman has a new squad number at Arsenal and is set to venture deeper into the squad in search of a pathway to the first team.

For now, development will continue, as the most important goal has not yet been reached: signing a professional contract.

Dowman can’t sign a professional contract at Arsenal until his 17th birthday in December 2026, as he’s not old enough to be considered for a pro deal and is still in full-time education.

So, Chelsea rumours can be discarded once and for all, as the player can’t be involved in a professional transfer deal, with Dowman firmly set to embark on his footballing journey in N5 with Arteta.
