Arsenal fans are growing concerned about the club’s lack of transfer business, while Premier League champions Liverpool continue to strengthen their squad.
While Martin Zubimendi is set to sign for the Gunners from Real Sociedad, movement on a striker appears to have stalled somewhat, and the North London club’s fanbase are beginning to get restless.
Liverpool completed a record deal for Florian Wirtz this week, adding to their summer additions of Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.
The Merseysiders could yet make another monumental signing that would rub salt in the Arsenal wounds, with murmurs of an Alexander Isak switch to Anfield still circulating.

Liverpool signing Arsenal target Alexander Isak would be ‘difficult’
Isak is Arteta’s dream signing this summer, although it’s widely accepted that a deal for the Newcastle striker would cost well in excess of £100 million, and thus, is unlikely to materialise.
That said, Liverpool continue to be linked with the man who scored 27 goals across all competitions last season.
Despite the Reds spending £116 million on Wirtz, the Isak rumours are still in the ether, with rumours suggesting that the north-west club are eager to start rebuilding their ageing squad this summer with a handful of marquee additions.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano, a deal for Isak in this window would be ‘very difficult’ to pull off.
“Liverpool would try to go for Isak [if he became available], but at the moment I don’t have this feeling,” Romano told the Market Madness Podcast.
“The club too, from what I’m hearing, see it as a very, very difficult deal.”

Arsenal fans react to Alexander Isak to Liverpool rumours
While Romano’s comments will reassure Arsenal fans that their title rivals aren’t able to get even stronger, this hasn’t stopped the Gunners faithful from expressing their concern about the prospective transfer on social media.
One fan wrote on X: “If Isak joins Liverpool I’m straight up retiring as a football fan.”
Another supporter wrote: “Liverpool already got Frimpong and Wirtz. And have been seriously linked to [Marc] Guehi, Kerkez and there are reports that they also want Isak. Arsenal, who finished 10 points behind them and have needed a striker for 3 years, all of a sudden discovered their targets are too expensive.”
Meanwhile, one fan wrote: “Liverpool are chasing Isak. Some Arsenal fans want us to keep chasing a 13-goal-a-season striker from the Bundesliga.”
The chances of Liverpool landing Isak this summer are certainly slim, but regardless, the Gunners faithful are valid in their concerns about how they can keep up with their Merseyside counterparts.
Perhaps an ambitious move for Isak from Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta would alleviate some of this anxiety.
