Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that there is a feeling that Viktor Gyokeres has made Arsenal his priority move over rivals Manchester United.
Both clubs have been heavily linked with the striker, though the Gunners are balancing that out with a decision to make on Benjamin Sesko, too.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Today, the message coming from those close to Manchester United is that they feel, despite calling on a daily basis and keeping contact active for Viktor Gyokeres, they feel that the player is giving priority to Arsenal…
“My understanding is that Gyokeres didn’t say no to Manchester United… just giving priority to Arsenal as long as the Arsenal option is on the table.”
Arsenal reignite Ollie Watkins transfer interest
If Arsenal shelve their interest in Gyokeres, then Portuguese outlet Record claims that Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins is of interest once again.
The striker was a target back in January, with a bid tabled for the striker, but it was one that failed to go through.
With Aston Villa missing out on Champions League football, a sale could well be on the horizon.
Nico Williams’ transfer decision
Arsenal are facing a battle to sign Nico Williams from Athletic Club this summer, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona joining the race for his signature.
While that pressure is on, Sport reports that the winger is currently taking his time over deciding his preference for his next club.
Williams is claimed to be waiting to decide his next move by analysing all of the offers on the table in the weeks ahead.
